July's my birthday month!!

For most of us I'm sure there is a month that is full of birthday's!
We know it happens every year and every year I say, this year I will be organised ahead of time but for some reason it never happens.
Well mine is July!

July is jammed packed with birthday's in my family. I have my Mum and Sister's (on the same day) I have a niece and nephew, there are also my Aunty and Uncle and Cousins and also Friends (I must admit that I don't send them all cards, but each year I do think of it)

So below are some of the cards I have made for a few of them, but I still have more to make yet.

This one is only a sneek peak as my sister hasn't received her card yet, so I don't want to post it here as she is likely to check my blog before she receives it!!

Thanks..

hello..

A few more changes have been happening in store over the past few weeks and I'm actually amazed as to how much stock one can fit into such a small space!

I'm really happy with the layout of the store now and many of you who have visted the store would have noticed that slowly we have been building up stock from many different companies from around the world!! Slow and steady wins the race!!

So I have had some new shelving made which will allow us to stock heaps more Pattern Papers from our favourite companies, which in turn has allowed me to have a change around in store! They say a change is a good as a holiday!!

Below are a few photos of the store to date!

In Store Update...

So things have been pretty hectic over the past few weeks with lots of things happening and heaps of new stock arriving!!

Some new stock that has arrived already
Scor-Pal: Scor-Pal creates accurate and precise scores giving you professional looking folds, no more crooked cards. Multiple scores are done in seconds without moving the paper. Perfect for accordion folds, boxes, fancy fold cards and other interesting projects! The Scor Pal is great for making boxes, if you've attended any of my classes that involve making boxes, then you all know how much I love to score and how important it is to be precise! I highly recommend the Scor Pal.

Distress Inks and Distress Embossing Powders by Tim Holtz for Ranger:

Poppies

If you have been into my store Creations In Paper or seen my logo you would have noticed that I have a single red Poppy on it.
I have always loved Poppies, I think it is the deep red colours of them that draws me to them. They are also very hard to find, I have a vase in my store that is full of (fake) poppies, but mainly blacks and whites as the red ones are the hardest to find!
My friend Jenni, brought me back a single red poppy she was given in Sydney from a purfume promotion!!

Below is a class I ran a few months ago in store using the Poppy cling from Hero Arts. When I saw this stamp I just had to use it! I matched it with deep red and classic black for quite a striking result.

We made 2 cards and then we also made a matching folder to store the cards and envelopes in. The folder is really simple to make and I have made this before in other classes I have taught. It is such a lovely gift to give someone also.

Sorry the photo's aren't all that great, but you get the general idea.

As mentioned on many occasion on my blog, Male cards are not my speciality!!
I think maybe because there is a bit of a lack in the market for good "man stamps" and of those around they all seem to be either about fishing or golf!
Anyway, recently Wild Rose Studio released a new range of stamps called "For Men". I think they are well suited to different age levels and also great to colour in with your Copic Markers.

I have tried to make a few cards that I think are suited to males!!
Any suggestions on some really good papers to use on male cards??
